साल के आखिरी दिन दिल्ली समेत कुछ राज्यों में बादलों के साथ सूरज की आंखमिचौली चलती रही। इससे कंपकंपी बढ़ी। दिल्ली में सुबह के समय न्यूनतम तापमान 9.6 डिग्री रहा, जबकि अधिकतम तापमान सामान्य से 2.7 डिग्री नीचे 17.7 डिग्री दर्ज किया गया।

पंजाब, हरियाणा, उत्तर प्रदेश और राष्ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्ली समेत उत्तर भारत के ज्यादातर हिस्से मंगलवार को भी कड़ाके की ठंड की चपेट में रहे। पश्चिमी हिमालयी राज्यों के ऊंचाई वाले क्षेत्रों में जहां पारा शून्य या उससे नीचे दर्ज किया गया, वहीं मैदानी इलाकों में भी तापमान में खासी गिरावट दर्ज की गई।
