मौनी अमावस्या से तीर्थ क्षेत्र में पांच से 10 लाख श्रद्धालु आ रहे हैं। रहने खाने और सुरक्षा के तमाम इंतजाम प्रशासन ने किए, लेकिन वह सब नाकाफी साबित हो रहे हैं। इसका फायदा स्थानीय दुकानदार उठा रहे हैं।

प्रयागराज महाकुंभ से चित्रकूट आई श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ देख दुकानदारों ने खाने-पीने की चीजों के दाम चार गुना कर दिए। धर्मशाला के कमरों का किराया दस गुना ज्यादा बढ़ा दिया। थके-हारे श्रद्धालु मजबूरी में सौ रुपये वाली थाली चार सौ रुपये में खाने को मजबूर हैं।
