Zimbabwe highest total in T20 International History: Zimbabwe Cricket Team put Gambia under the sword by thumping the team for 344/4, which is the new world record in T20Is. Zimbabwe’s world-record setting score came in an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier Group B match.

Zimbabwe then wrapped up the Gambia team in 54 runs, thereby winning the match by a margin of 290.

Sikandar Raza was the Player of the Match for his unbeaten score of 133 from 43 balls. He was ably supported by Tadiwanashe Marumani (62 runs off 19 balls) and Clive Madande (53* off 17 deliveries).

Sikandar Raza thus shattered Rohit Sharma record for the fastest T20I century by a Test-playing nation’s player when he got to his century in 33 balls. Raza hit seven fours and 15 sixes to get to his final score.

Gambia’s top scorer of the night, Andre Jarju 12* (12), was the only player for the team to cross over into double figures as Frank Campbell and Asim Ashraf were the second highest scorers with seven runs each to their tally.

Festive offer

For the winning team, Brandon Mavuta (3/10 in 4 overs) and Richard Ngarava (3/13) were the stars with the ball.

Zimbabwe’s batting efforts overhauled the previous record held by Nepal, who had scored 314/3 against Mongolia at the Asian Games in 2023.
