Virat Kohli’s image is splashed across the front pages of leading Australian media as the Indian team arrives for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, beginning November 22 in Perth.

The Daily Telegraph features a large image of Kohli with the Hindi headline, “Yugon ki Ladai” (Fight for the Ages), capturing the gravity of the upcoming series. Herald Sun also features Kohli with an overview of his career stats in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, alongside a full back-page story on the anticipated Indian lineup.

While Kohli takes the spotlight on front pages, Yashasvi Jaiswal graces the back pages. The Herald Sun dedicates an entire page to Jaiswal with a headline in English and Punjabi: “The New King.” The Daily Telegraph labels Jaiswal as India’s most aggressive opener since Virender Sehwag in an extensive feature.

To celebrate the five-match series, The Daily Telegraph plans an eight-page print and digital wrap in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, available in The Daily Telegraph (Sydney), Herald Sun (Melbourne), Courier-Mail (Brisbane), and The Advertiser (Adelaide).

This series, termed one of Test cricket’s “greatest rivalries,” will see Australia aiming to reclaim the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which they haven’t won since 2015. Senior Australian players, including captain Pat Cummins, have expressed their eagerness to take back the title following two successive series losses to India on home soil.
