Lucknow Super Giants all rounder Yudhvir Singh became the first concussion substitute of IPL 2024 after a major head injury to Mohsin Khan.
In the ongoing IPL match between LSG and KKR, LSG’s pacer Mohsin Khan suffered a head injury while fielding at third man and had to leave the field for treatment. Mohsin Khan was seen struggling after being hit on the head, lying on the ground. The incident occurred while Narine was batting, and he played a shot towards third man where Khan was positioned.
Khan ran to catch the ball, but Unfortunately, his head hit the ground first. As a result of this incident, Yudhvir Singh was sent in as a concussion substitute for Mohsin Khan before the 16th over began. Yudhvir Singh Charak thus became the first concussion substitute of the IPL 2024, and not just this, he took a wicket on his first ball by dismissing KKR ‘s Angkrish Raghuvanshi in his first over.
Looking back at the concussion substitute history in the IPL, Yudhvir became the second-ever concussion substitute in the competition. Mumbai Indians wicketkeeper Vishnu Vinod was the first one on the list. Vinod had replaced Ishan Kishan for the Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier for the IPL 2023.
