LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Thursday lashed out at
Congress
president
Mallikarjun Kharge
for his remark on Ram and Shiv at a poll rally in Chhattisgarh saying it was against the religious sentiments of the majority in India.
While trying to explain the ‘significance’ of Congress candidate Shivkumar Dahariya’s name,
Kharge
said: “Ye Ram ka muqabla kar sakta hai kyunki ye Shiv hai (He can compete with Ram because he is Shiv).”
On Thursday, Yogi said Congress’ history was replete with instances of the party insulting Sanatan Dharma.
But such statements became even more conspicuous during
polls
when Congress disrespected “India’s faith”.
Yogi
claimed Kharge was steering Congress towards oblivion through divisive actions and hoped that Lord Ram and Lord Shiv would guide the grand old party’s leadership to embrace path of truth.
