Yogi Adityanath hails Constitution as 'guide to justice for all' on 76th Republic Day

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday lauded the Constitution as a guiding document ensuring

justice for all

citizens without discrimination. He made these remarks while hoisting the national flag at his official residence in Lucknow on the occasion of the

76th Republic Day

, which also marked the 75th anniversary of the Constitution’s enactment.
Extending his greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath encouraged everyone to uphold their constitutional duties. “Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state on the 76th Republic Day!” he posted on X. “This glorious festival is an opportunity to express gratitude to our great Constitution, democratic traditions and the immortal sons of the country. Let us all resolve to follow the duties given by the Constitution. Jai Hind!”

According to an official statement, the flag-hoisting ceremony was held at his residence at 5 Kalidas Marg. Addressing the gathering, Adityanath reflected on the nation’s journey since 1950, when India implemented its Constitution to establish itself as a sovereign, prosperous, and democratic republic.

The chief minister paid tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar, chairman of the Constitution’s drafting committee, calling it an “inclusive and progressive Constitution.” He emphasised its role in uniting citizens and delivering justice without bias. “The

Constitution of India

is our biggest guide to give justice to every citizen,” he said.
Highlighting India’s commitment to democratic values, Adityanath contrasted the nation’s practices with those of other democracies. He noted that while some countries restrict voting rights based on race or gender, India has ensured universal adult suffrage since its inception.
“India has implemented all this from the very first day,” the chief minister said, reiterating the significance of the Constitution in promoting equality and unity.
