MUMBAI: A X war between the BJP and Shiv Sena (UBT) on Thursday after actor

Amitabh Bachchan

‘s on the micro blogging site saying that he used the newly opened

Coastal Road

after the

Bandra Worli Sea Link

and reached

Marine Drive

from Juhu in just 30 minutes. The BJP took credit for the Coastal Road project saying in a post on X that ‘BJP led

NDA government

strives to provide quality road network and robust infrastructure to all Bharatiya citizens under the leadership of our beloved Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the infrastructure man of Maharashtra

Devendra Fadnavis

’.

Sena (UBT) MLA

Aaditya Thackeray

hit back saying it was ‘hilarious to see the BJP take credit for the coastal road and said that it was a project that the BJP has absolutely nothing to do with, apart from delaying the permissions from the Union Environment Ministry for 2 years.
“Oh! Boy!! went to work .. after Sea Link on to Coastal Road and Tunnel underground .. JVPD, Juhu to Marine Drive , 30 mins .. !! Wow! Clean new nice road, no obstruction,” Bachchan said in a post on X.
“Thank you Amitabh Bachchan ji…we aim to honour all the guarantees that are made. The few moments of happiness shared by respected citizens like you on these roads are a testament to the devotion and hard work of everyone involved with this initiative,” the Maharashtra BJP said in their post on X.
“The coastal road south bound was announced and implemented by Shri Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray entirely through the BMC. The BJP desperate for credit, as always, for works not done by itself, has quote retweeted Amitabh Bachchan sir. The coastal road has been only partially opened, and it’s a joke of how delayed it is. Had the MVA been in government, we would have completed the entire work by December 2023, without cost escalation. Now the work, scheduled to have finished last year, isn’t half done by mid 2024. Each month, the deadline is pushed ahead. The BJP can try to grab credit, but Mumbaikars know it’s Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray who made this happen,” Aaditya said in his post.
