India competes at the Winter Asian Games 2025, aiming for its first medal, while China dominates the medal tally with 20 medals.
The Winter Asian Games 2025 are underway in Herbin, China. The games officially started on 7th February with some events happening from 5th February onwards and will go on till 14th February. Along with India, 1,275 athletes from 34 nations are participating in the games. In the duration of these 7 days, a total of 64 events in 11 sports will be played. This year, it’s an important tournament for India, the country that has never won any medals in the tournament’s history so far. After the introduction of the Khelo India Winter Games, the country is hoping for a good show in world events.
So far on 8th February, Saturday, medal events happened in speed skating, short track speed skating, ice hockey, curling, Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, freestyle skiing, and and snowboarding. However, despite India’s participation in all the events, India has failed to grab a medal in any of these events as of now. Yet, India will be participating in more events in the coming days.
Talking about ice hockey, India has suffered two defeats and is in third place in the group. First, they lost to Hong Kong by 30-0, and then Macau thrashed India by 19-1.
