’ has been delayed due to Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘Chhaava’.
According to a report in Mid-Day, ‘Pooja Meri Jaan’, which was first expected to be released in November of this year, is now slated for release in 2025.

According to a source cited by the portal, Maddock Films hasn’t previously experimented with this genre, and the Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi film is a special project for producer Dinesh Vijan.
Vijan reportedly made the decision to release ‘Pooja Meri Jaan’ in theatres at the beginning of 2025. Due to the major releases in the upcoming two months, including the Vicky Kaushal film, the producer has decided to delay its release.

The report also stated that Chhaava aims to fully do justice to the ambitious biopic in terms of buzz and promotions. Pooja Meri Jaan’s creators thought the film needed a break because ‘Baby John’, starring Varun Dhawan, is also releasing on Christmas.
In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, Mrunal stated that she feels proud that she chose Pooja Meri Jaan. Mrunal shared that she qualified for the movie by doing well on her screen test, readings, and audition. On the final day of her 2022 movie ‘Sita Ramam’, the actress disclosed that she had signed ‘Pooja Meri Jaan’. Mrunal said, “I finished the movie and came back to Bombay. My flight was delayed. I was sitting in the office and waiting for the director to arrive so I could do the reading.”

Directed by Navjot Singh Gulati, ‘Pooja Meri Jaan’ reportedly revolves around the subject of stalking. On the other hand, Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ stars Akshaye Khanna, Prakash Raj, Divya Dutta, Ashutosh Rana, and Neil Bhoopalam. It is an adaptation of the Marathi novel, titled ‘Chhava’.
