Rohit Sharma made a blunder on the field in the India vs. Bangladesh match. With Axar Patel on a hat-trick, the Indian captain dropped what was a regulation catch at first slip. As expected, Rohit was asked about the dropped catch after India won by 6 wickets. The opener jokingly said that he might treat Axar with a dinner on February 21 to ask for his forgiveness.
“I may take him to dinner tomorrow (on dropped a catch that would’ve given Axar a hat-trick). That was an easy catch. I should have taken that catch, the standards I have set standing in the slips, but these things happen,” Rohit Sharma said after the India vs. Bangladesh match.

Naturally, Axar too was disappointed. But like Rohit mentioned, the all-rounder also brushed things off by saying such things happen in cricket.
“A lot happened (about the hat-trick). I didn’t know if it (Tanzid Hasan wicket) was out, but KL (Rahul) appealed, and it was out. Then, I got the second wicket (Mushfiqur Rahim). The third one, when the edge was found, I thought I got my hat-trick. It was an eventful over. I started to celebrate, and then I saw it (Rohit Sharma dropping the catch). I didn’t react and just came back. Everyone makes mistakes,” Axar Patel had said after the first innings.
