Jasprit Bumrah will not be traveling with the Indian team for the Champions Trophy 2025, as he has been ruled out. The BCCI has named his replacement.
Before beginning their campaign for the Champions Trophy 2025, India has suffered a major setback, with their most reliable pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, ruled out due to a lower back injury. Though he is irreplaceable, let’s take a look at the player who has been named as his replacement for the tournament.
The two-ODI-old Harshit Rana has replaced Jasprit Bumrah for the Champions Trophy. The bowler has taken four wickets in two matches, including a brilliant debut where he claimed three wickets. Interestingly, he has taken three wickets on debut in all formats.
Although Mohammed Siraj was also in contention, Rana was preferred over him, with Siraj named as a reserve player.
Jasprit Bumrah ruled out from CT 2025
Bumrah succumbed to a back injury in the last Test match against Australia, forcing him to leave the game midway. He was initially named in the India vs England 3rd ODI squad to prepare for the Champions Trophy 2025. However, his exclusion from the final squad raised concerns about his recovery.
Fans were hopeful for his return, but in a major setback, he has been ruled out of the tournament.
