Olympics tick, now it’s time to discuss the Diamond League for Neeraj Chopra, who is eyeing one more Diamond League dominance. But when will he play?
Neeraj Chopra, the man with the golden arm, is a two-time Olympic medalist and javelin thrower who is currently on a high with two Olympic medals in his bank. Now, it’s time for Diamond League dominance, as Chopra, who is currently participating in the Lausanne Diamond League, is standing fourth and needs a top-six finish on Thursday to secure his spot in the final in Brussels on September 14. Neeraj won the Lausanne Diamond League in both 2022 and 2023.
Hang tight as Neeraj Chopra is getting closer to his next challenge. He will compete in the Lausanne Diamond League on Thursday, 22 August 2024. His event is scheduled to start at 12:22 AM IST on 23 August. And the event will be live on the JioCinema app and website, with TV live telecast will be available on Sports18.
It is also noteworthy to add that Arshad Nadeem, who won gold in Paris with an Olympic record throw of 92.97m, is not participating in the league. His absence in Lausanne means Neeraj is certainly a top contender. However, other leading throwers, including Paris bronze medalist Anderson Peters and Czech superstar Jakub Vadlejch, can pose a possible challenge to the Indian superstar. Vadlejch currently leads the standings with 14 points after victories in Doha and a third-place finish in Paris and will be in action.
