, passed away on July 26 at the age of 79. Following the death of their father, Kamran Khan, Menaka raised both children on her own.
In a 2005 interview with NDTV, the director-choreographer attributed her success to her mother. In a segment titled ‘With a Little Help from My Friends,’ Farah openly expressed her deep affection for her mother.

She acknowledged that her mother’s influence shaped both her and her brother Sajid, highlighting the sacrifices and efforts she made to ensure they received a proper education, which was crucial to their development.

The choreographer-turned-director also expressed gratitude to her mother for instilling strong values in her and her brother, calling her an exceptionally honest person. She also credited her mom’s sense of humor and zest for life with shaping her own personality. Farah added that aspiring to be even half the woman her mother was would make her proud, which moved her mother to tears.
