Parag was batting on 73 when Gaikwad leaped in the air to take a blinder.
Everyone has their eyes glued to the India vs Bangladesh 1st Test in Chennai. However, two other matches are happening in Anantapur at the moment. These matches will decide the winners of the Duleep Trophy 2024. In one of these matches, India A vs India C, Ruturaj Gaikwad took a one-handed stunner.
Gaikwad leaped in the air to his left and plucked the ball out of the air to send a well-set Riyan Parag back into the hut. The India A were already leading by 264 runs until that point. Parag was already at 73 at that point and was marching towards his hundred; if not for Gaikwad’s superhuman effort, not only would Parag have scored his 4th first-class hundred. India A’s lead eventually got past 300 for the loss of just one more wicket but things could have been much worse had Gaikwad not held Parag’s catch.
