Fakhar Zaman, one of Pakistan’s in-form batters in the Champions Trophy, was dismissed early as he was not fully fit. He regretted not being able to play a crucial innings for his team in the Pakistan vs. New Zealand match at the National Stadium on February 19. A video has surfaced showing the batter in tears, heartbroken over the missed opportunity.
Pakistan’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign has taken a further hit following their opening loss to New Zealand, now worsened by an injury setback. Key batter Fakhar Zaman sustained an injury early in the match and has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament.

A video posted by the PCB on social media captured Zaman limping back to the dressing room, visibly upset. Teammate Shaheen Shah Afridi was seen comforting the injured batter.

Fakhar Zaman sustained an injury while fielding in the very first over, landing awkwardly on the ground. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) later confirmed that he was being assessed for a muscular sprain.
Despite his injury, the left-handed batter came in at number four but managed only 24 runs off 41 balls before being dismissed by Michael Bracewell.
