India Cricket Team batter Rinku Singh reveals exact reason for Duleep Trophy snub, claims he failed to perform well in Ranji Trophy
One of the biggest surprises for the team selection in Duleep Trophy was the omission of Rinku Singh. The BCCI has made it clear that it wants it’s Indian star players to play domestic cricket. And thus save Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli the rest of the players will be taking part in the tournament. Rinku Singh has been snubbed and he believes that the sole reason for his snub was owing to the fact that he didn’t play well.
Rinku Singh claimed that he didn’t play many Ranji Trophy matches. He played only a couple of games where he failed to perform well. The star finisher has taken the snub to his chin and is ready to perform well when given the chance.

“Nothing…I didn’t perform that well (in the domestic season). I didn’t play many matches in the Ranji Trophy…I played 2-3 matches. I wasn’t selected because I didn’t play that well. I might get selected for next-round matches,” Rinku Singh told Sportstak.
Rinku Singh believes that he would get his chance in the next couple of games. And the southpaw is hopeful that when he gets his chance he will perform. But most importantly, Rinku believes that he himself is to be blamed for his poor performance in domestic cricket for his Duleep Trophy snub.
Apart from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya too won’t be playing in Duleep Trophy. But the rest of the players will be looking to get some much needed game time before the start of the IND vs BAN Test series.
