For the sangeet, Janhvi decked up in a gorgeous blue
lehenga
with mermaid and peacock-inspired detailing on the skirt. Post the event, Janhvi put up a heartwarming note to mark the celebration and the last click saw Shikhar adjusting Janhvi’s lehenga, trimming the can-can from her ensemble so that she could hit the dance floor at ease. Janhvi Kapoor, going beyond the viral photo of Shikhar adjusting her outfit, offered a heartwarming explanation for the same on Instagram, “sorry had to cut the can-can off before the dance.”
Further describing the inspiration behind her lehenga, Janhvi wrote, “For the last leg of celebrations, I knew I wanted to wear things that have a personal meaning. Since so many of my most special memories have been in Jamnagar, in complete solitude from the world surrounded by nature and beauty and wildlife, and people I care about so deeply- we decided to take inspiration from there.” Everywhere you look in Jamnagar, you will be greeted by a beautifully preening peacock or two, or three; or 10. Entering your lawns, fluttering their feathers, skipping across the roads, sometimes eating your breakfast. And so what started off as a peacock-coloured lehenga, ended up as a full-on peacock feather skirt.”
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant held their sangeet on July 5 in Mumbai. The couple is all set to get hitched on July 12.
