Vikrant Massey
has been a television actor, post which he was a part of many movies – from ‘Lootera’ to ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ among others. However, it is
Vidhu Vinod Chopra
‘s ‘
12th Fail
‘ based on the life of IPS officer
Manoj Sharma
, which changed the game for him. The film’s box office success made a huge impact on Vikrant’s career and the actor and he got a certain bankability attached to him.
However, he doesn’t want to call himself a
box office star
as of now.
Vikrant believes that it takes a long time to develop that kind of consistency. During a chat with Mashable India, Vikrant said, “Jab shuru kiya tha film ke liye tayyari karna tab ek valid skepticism tha ki cinema mein aani hai film. Bahot saare actual log the actors nahin the. (When I started preparing for the film, there was a valid skepticism that film was coming into cinema. There are a lot of actual people, not the actors.) I still am not a box office star. I still have a long way to go for that.”
He will start believing that he is a box office star, only if he delivers 5-7 films consistently in the future at the box office. It’s the bare-minimum! The actor hopes that it happens within the next five years for him, wherein, he’s able to have several movies lined up in his kitty and he can relax. “Aap ek inning mein khel ke nahin bol sakte ho ki ho gaya,” said the actor.
On work front, Vikrant will be seen next in ‘The Sabarmati Report’ along with Raashii Khanna.
