Over two decades after the box office success of ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’, reports stated that
Vikram Bhatt
was developing its sequel. However, the director has now shed some light on the project and his role in the sequel.
In an interview with News18 Showsha, the director was about the film and he said, “I don’t wish that I was making the sequel of ‘Awara Paagal Deewana.’ I’m not in that place in my mind.
That film happened in 2002. This is 22 years later. I’m not the same man. A lot has changed.”
Besides the ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ sequel, reports also stated that Bhatt’s film ‘Kasoor’ is in development, and it will mark
Aftab Shivdasani
’s Bollywood comeback. When asked for an update on the same, Bhatt shared, “Kasoor sequel… I don’t understand what’s going on! It belongs to Mukesh Bhatt and I believe someone else is making it. I don’t know how that person got the title. But all the best to them.”
The sequel to ‘Kasoor’ is reportedly set to feature
Urvashi Rautela
and Punjabi hitmaker Jassie Gill. Directed by Glen Barretto and written by Mudassar Aziz, the film will also see Adnan Sami returning to Bollywood after a 9-year hiatus.
