Varun Dhawan, who is currently busy with the promotions of Baby John, opens up on how the chartbuster Nain Matakka of ‘Baby John’ has turned out and what producer Atlee’s initial plan was when it comes to getting Punjabi music icon Diljit Dosanjh on board for the track.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Varun said that Atlee had always imagined Diljit singing for the film because of his sharp creative instincts. The producer also had great respect for the singer and felt his unique energy and style would make the track stand at another level.
Varun admitted that he had not foreseen the massive popularity of Nain Matakka, but the song has now become a viral sensation with its infectious rhythm and powerful beats.
The Thaman S composed upbeat number has been doing the rounds creating much buzz around Baby John. It has added to the buzz of the film. Diljit was equally thrilled on hearing the track for the first time, as he found it to be a mass number. Atlee made the right choice by choosing the celebrated Punjabi singer Nain Matakka, which blends regional musical charm with a pan-Indian vibe.
The actor also spoke about Atlee’s attention to detail and his ability to predict audience preferences. As the producer, Atlee was keen to create an album that would be unique for Baby John, and getting Diljit for Nain Matakka was a part of his strategic planning to make the film’s music connect with the audiences widely.
‘Baby John’ features a star-studded ensemble cast, including Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav, and a special appearance by Salman Khan. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on December 25, 2024.
