NEW DELHI: Finance minister
Nirmala Sitharaman
on Tuesday announced the Union Budget 2024-25 with maximum allocation of resources in
defence sector
. However, it witnessed a 23.51% decrease in allocation in this sector as compared to the Budget 2023.
Education sector
, on the other hand, witnessed nearly 0.31% increase in
budgetary allocation
this year as compared to 2024.
Research and development got over 5% increase in the budgetary allocation as compared to last year.
