The 2018 Hindi folk horror film ‘
Tumbbad
‘ made a significant impact on audiences and critics with its plot and narration. The film was re-released on September 13 and earned around Rs 18 crore in India within nine days of its release. During the end credits of the re-release, the makers announced a sequel for the movie. Unexpectedly, the director of the film, Rahi Anil Barve, has announced his withdrawal from the sequel.

Soon after, Sohum Shah reacted to the decision in the comment section, “Congratulations mere bhai (my brother) for ‘Gulkanda’ and ‘Raktabhramand’. Aur jaldi se shuru kar de (start soon) ‘Pahadpangira’. Maza aayega (It’ll be fun) (smile emoji).”
Rahi had a humble reply to this, “I am always there for you. Thanks for everything.” To which Sohum responded, “Likewise (flying kiss emoji).”
Starring Sohum Shah in the lead role, ‘Tumbbad’ follows the story of the protagonist’s search for a hidden 20th-century treasure in the Indian village of Tumbbad, Maharashtra.
