Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh had earlier opened up about the funniest and the most memorable moment, when her father put Jackky Bhagnani on the spot just a few months into dating. The actress got married to Jackky earlier this year on February 21.
While talking to Ranveer Allahbadia, Rakul, still dating Jackky back then, remembers a family trip to Delhi where Jackky had accompanied her on her mother’s birthday. Rakul had warned her parents not to make it awkward or ask them “odd’’questions, especially that father of mine. This is what she told her mother,”Please tell papa to just treat him like a normal boy. Like how my brother gets his girlfriends, just treat him like a normal guy who’s coming home for lunch.”
During their lunch, Rakul’s father, of course, couldn’t help but go right to the point.”What’s your plan with my daughter?” he asked Jackky, much to Rakul’s surprise. Jackky, ever the smooth talker, responded with a calm and mature answer that won him major brownie points with her father. “Right now, we’re doing this film, we’re doing that… work and all is fine. But, no, no, I’m asking you—what’s your plan with my daughter?” her dad pressed.
Much to the surprise of all, Jackky opened up candidly, “I am ready. She’s not ready. I can marry her tomorrow, but she needs time. So whenever she’s ready, I’m here.”
That moment, Rakul says she was absolutely shocked. She never had the idea that Jackky would take it so seriously. Still, at that moment, she knew she could rely on him.
Speaking in the same podcast conversation, Rakul discussed life before meeting Jackky Bhagnani. “I was single for five years before getting into a relationship with Jackky”, she revealed. I was totally focused on my career. In the initial years I worked in Telugu, where I did six films in a year. I was not in the space to think of anything else,” Rakul confesses. “For me, my work was important and I didn’t have to think of anything else. I had to put my blinders on and work. I was in the work zone.”
She said she never really cared about the “hot guy” factor while dating. Rakul was always too career-oriented to pay much heed to anything else in life-except maybe relationships.
With Jackky by her side, Rakul has found perfect balance between love and work, and their love story is one for the books.
On the professional front, Rakul will join forces with Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan for the much-awaited sequel De De Pyaar De 2, a project fans have all been waiting to see.
