In an old interview, Kartik Aaryan had revealed that for acting in the movie’Shehzada’, he didn’t take anything in the way of fee. According to him, he had accepted the deal on no pay because he experienced a financial glitch due to the producers. But Kartik was not actually producing the movie; he took all the credit for a special contribution.
Kartik, who has played the lead opposite Kriti Sanon in the film, claims ‘Shehzada’ faced budget issues during filming and so decided not to accept his acting fee to be a part of it. The production house has credited his effort by listing him as one of the producers of the movie though Kartik clarified that he never took up the responsibilities that other producers take up.

‘, he thanked the producers for having given him a credit as producer, adding that he is happy to have been credited because he feels he did much to ensure that the project would not come to a screeching halt. He even said he went beyond accepting not taking his fee as he offered further financial support that would help complete the film.
Kartik admits that he is now focusing on acting rather than really pursuing a career in production. He says that the time required for film-making would keep him away from acting commitments. Still, he kept his options open for taking up a production deal if a good project happens to come along in the future.
In a lighter vein, Kartik also said that his mother manages his finances. One day she convinced him they didn’t have money to buy a car for which he was planning. Since he does not follow up on his bank balance himself, Kartik believed his mother, revealing another side of his approach to fame being grounded.
