. This reconciliation was initiated by
Baba Siddique
, a prominent political figure who tragically lost his life on October 12, 2024. The backdrop of this significant event was Siddique’s annual
Iftar party
, a gathering that not only celebrated the spirit of Ramadan but that also served as a platform for healing old wounds.
The tension between Salman and Shah Rukh began in 2008 during a birthday celebration for actress Katrina Kaif. An argument erupted between the two superstars, leading to a public fallout that lasted for years. During this period, Bollywood became divided as fans and industry insiders took sides, creating an atmosphere of rivalry that permeated the film industry.
Baba Siddique, who had served as an MLA from Bandra Wes held annual Iftar parties that became legendary events attended by Bollywood’s elite. At the Iftar party in 2013, he seated Shah Rukh next to Salim Khan, Salman’s father, creating an opportunity for the two stars to reconnect.
According to India Today, when Shah Rukh arrived at the party, he was initially seated away from Salman. However, after some time, Salman made his way over and Baba Siddique made them greet each other. The moment they hugged it was was captured in photographs that quickly spread across social media, symbolizing the end of their feud. Baba Siddique downplayed his role in their reconciliation, stating, “They both wanted it. Allah shows the way. I had no role to play.”
