Thomas Cup 2024, India vs China, quarterfinals Live Updates: India’s men’s badminton team takes on China in the quarterfinals of the Thomas Cup on Thursday.

The Indian team is coming into the contest on the back of a 1-4 defeat against Indonesia in a Group C thriller in Chengdu on Wednesday.

India had lost the Asian Games team gold 3-2 to China in Hangzhou. So when the Indian team takes on China in China today, that’s a score they will be keen to settle. India have made one change to their lineup that faced Indonesia, replacing Srikanth Kidambi with Kiran George for the third singles slot.

HS Prannoy was the sole winner in the tie against Indonesia on Wednesday, coming back from a game down against Anthony Ginting. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty saved 12 match points but went down fighting against Muhammad Shohibul Fikri – Bagas Maulana. Lakshya Sen took Jonatan Christie to the distance but lost in three. Sai Pratheek replaced MR Arjun to partner Dhruv Kapila and the scratch pairing went down in straight games against Leo Rolly Carnando – Daniel Marthin to give Indonesia the decisive advantage. In a dead rubbber, Srikanth lost against Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.
