Confessed to fabricating
Former special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, who has got a BJP ticket from Mumbai North Central, was asked during a television programme whether he had ever dreamt of entering politics. With a cheeky grin, Nikam replied that he would tell the truth since he was no longer in court. Nikam, who had prosecuted the 26/11 terror accused Ajmal Kasab, had confessed to once fabricating a story of Kasab eating biryani in jail to ensure that he does not get any sympathy.
Journey’s just begun
BJP central leaders at the party headquarters are amused at the way state leaders visiting the office and new inductees conduct themselves. The state leaders usually hang around to build bridges with the national media and spend some time with senior leaders present at the headquarters. It is the “eminent personalities” joining BJP who are at times a worry for the leaders as they fear they may say something out of line.
