The Government of Telangana has approved
enhanced ticket rates
and additional shows for the upcoming movie ‘Game Changer’, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in key roles, ahead of its worldwide release on January 10. But the government declined the request for a benefit show with enhanced rates for the movie.
Permission has been granted for a sixth show at 4:00 am on the release date, with increased ticket prices. Multiplexes can charge an additional Rs 150 (including GST) per ticket, while single theatres are allowed an additional Rs 100 (including GST). The producers have now shared an official statement regarding the same on their X handle (formerly Twitter).
From 11 to 19 January, theatres can screen five shows daily, with multiplexes permitted to charge an extra Rs 100 and single theatres Rs 50 per ticket. However, the request for a benefit show at 1:00 am was declined.
As part of the conditions for these relaxations, theatres must screen advertisements to raise awareness about the adverse effects of narcotics, drugs, and cybercrime.
‘Game Changer’ is a political action drama marking Ram Charan’s big-screen comeback after the global success of ‘RRR’ alongside
SS Rajamouli
and Jr NTR in 2022. Directed by S Shankar, the movie features a story by Karthik Subbaraj, with music composed by Thaman S. The ‘Indian 2’ director will make his debut in Telugu cinema with this project. It also features actors such as Anjali, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, and Srikanth in key roles. Ram Charan is expected to portray three distinct characters in the film: an IAS officer, an IPS officer, and a common man.
