Pakistan captain Babar Azam has narrowed the gap between himself and India’s Suryakumar Yadav at the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Rankings. Babar’s strong performance in the recent series against New Zealand played a key role in closing that gap as he climbed up to the 4th spot .
Babar Azam climbs up one spot in Men’s T20I Rankings
The right-handed batsman led his team’s batting lineup, scoring 125 runs across four innings during the T20I series that ended with a 2-2 draw. Babar Azam’s half-century in the fifth match helped him improve one spot to fourth on the T20I Batter Rankings, earning him an additional 10 rating points for a total of 763. This puts him just 98 rating points behind Suryakumar Yadav, who remains the top-ranked T20I batsman.

Other Pakistan players also saw significant rise
Another Pakistani player making strides in the rankings is Fakhar Zaman, who moved up 10 places to 62nd after scoring 104 runs during the series. New Zealand’s Tim Seifert also made gains, climbing seven places to equal seventh thanks to his 85 runs at a strike rate of 144.06.
On the updated list for T20I bowlers, Pakistan’s pace bowler Shaheen Afridi rose three spots to equal 14th after taking eight wickets across four matches. New Zealand bowlers also saw improvements, with Michael Bracewell and Ben Sears making notable jumps. Bracewell moved up 13 spots to 55th, while Sears climbed 29 places to 60th.
In the T20I all-rounder rankings, Pakistan’s Imad Wasim made the most significant move, jumping 10 places to 22nd after a strong showing in the series against New Zealand.
