The actress went on to say that, in contrast to her father, who she described as a “people person,” she is a very private individual. She acknowledges that she lacks the qualities required of a politician. She asserts that in order to appeal to people, one must be very approachable and transparent.
Sonakshi stated, “All jokes aside, I don’t think I would because I’ve seen my dad do it. I don’t think I have the aptitude for it. My dad is a very people’s person. I am a very private person, and you’ve to be a people’s person, you’ve to be there for them and this could be anyone strangers from every part of the country, and I’ve seen my dad do that, so I don’t think I have that in me.”
Sonakshi continues, drawing a distinction between the ‘basic’ and ‘first step’ to being a politician, adding that she is ‘completely truly open’ to very few close people. She went on to say that in order to be a politician, one must ‘appeal’, ‘understand’, and take on the issues of the people as their own. She therefore thinks she isn’t ‘able to or would be able to accomplish it. She concluded by saying, “So, no point, no getting into something just for the sake of it.”
