The battle is all set for one of the biggest wars on the Box Office this Diwali. On one hand is the Kartik Aaryan led Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, on the other, is the magnum opus Singham Again, with Ajay Devgn at the helm of things. While
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3
boasts of a huge ensemble cast including stars like Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit,
Singham Again
is equally heavy on the star factor, that includes Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, and Akshay Kumar. As both the movies get ready for release, CBFC has finally passed Singham Again with a U/A certificate, but, with several cuts.
Following are some of the changes the movie has to go through
The CBFC have asked makers to alter the 23-second-long ‘match cut’ visuals depictions of Lord Rama, Sita Mata and Lord Hanuman with that of Singham, Avni and Simmba.
A 26-second dialogue and visuals have to be modifed, as it affected “international diplomatic relations of India with neighbouring state”.
A beheading scene is blurred.
The colour of the religious flag was modified, and in the same scene, the use of the ‘Shiv Strota’ in the background score was deleted.
Another scene of Raavan grabbing, pulling and pushing Sita in the drama scene was deleted.
The following disclaimer was also modified; “This film is purely a work of fiction…Although the film is inspired by the story of Lord Ram, neither its narrative nor the characters should be viewed as revered deities…The story features contemporary characters of today…or societies, and their cultures, customs, practices, and traditions.”
Coming back to the clash, with both films releasing on the huge occasion of Diwali, they are currently locked in a huge tussle over screen sharing. The Kartik Aaryan starrer is being distributed by Anil Thadani, who probably is the biggest distributor in the country, while the makers Ajay and Kareena’s film have joined hands with
PVR-Inox
, who holds the most number of multiplex screens in North India. With no parties willing to budge, despite the film only being 4 days away, the advance booking of the film has not yet begun on a full scale.
However, in few centers, the advance booking has opened, and there, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has taken the lead. As per Track BO till Sunday night, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has sold over 17000 tickets from its 1018 shows, collecting about Rs 47 lakh, while Singham Again has sold 712 tickets from 100 shows, and collected Rs 1.3 lakh till now. However, one can only clearly gauge the difference between the numbers of shows later, as multiplex booking is yet to be opened.
Both films have a very good acceptance amongst the audience, and sources reveal that by Monday night or Tuesday morning , advance booking for the films should begin on full scale.
