JAMMU: The J&K state investigation agency (SIA) Friday attached the property of an absconding
terrorist
,
Abdul Hameed Khan
, in Jammu’s
Rajouri
district under section 33 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (
UAPA
).
A SIA spokesperson said the attachment was in connection with an FIR case registered in 2021 against Abdul, a resident of Manjakote tehsil in Rajouri, and his other associates, Mohd Rafiq Khan of Manjakote and Gurpal Singh of Sangrur in Punjab.
Charges had been framed against all the accused in the case, and the SIA attached a land registered in the name of Abdul in village Panjgrain (Gambhir Brahmana) in Manjakote, in compliance with the order of a designated court, the spokesperson informed.
Abdul had gone to
Pakistan
for arms training along with several other youths from the district in 1992 and was now operating from the neighbouring country under Lashkar-e-Taiba, the SIA spokesman said, adding that he was instrumental in a number of terrorist attacks and activities in Rajouri.
“The terrorist is responsible for activating the sleeper cells and attracting gullible youths to join LeT outfit through overground workers, with the motive to wage a war against India,” the SIA spokesperson further said.
