beating the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Jawan’.
The horror comedy, which is a sequel, has collected Rs 586 crore nett at the domestic box office, beating Shah Rukh’s film ‘Jawan’ which until now held the top spot with a lifetime collection of Rs 582.31 crore in Hindi.
By Monday, ‘Stree 2’ had surpassed Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 ( Rs 525.7) and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan ( Rs 524.43), becoming the second biggest grossing film in Hindi. On Tuesday, September 17, it overtook SRK-Atlee’s ‘Jawan’ to become the highest-grossing Hindi film.
As ‘Stree 2’ has secured a new feat, fans of the franchise, as well as SRK’s admirers have taken this new record as a bencharm to beat. Cheering on the Shraddha starrer, a fan wrote, “Wo stree hai kuch bhee kar sakti hai”!
