Former star all-rounder Suresh Raina backs Shivam Dube, as he believes that this left-handed batter could play a major role for India in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Recently, at an event organized by the India Champions, former World Cup winner Suresh Raina shared his views on the 15-member squad selected for the T20 World Cup 2024. The India Champions are one of the teams participating in the World Championship of Legends (WCL).

The WCL will consist of retired and non-contracted players from six cricket powerhouse countries—England, India, Pakistan, Australia, the West Indies, and South Africa. Speaking to the media, Raina expressed his thoughts about the Men in Blue squad. He believes that the team has a healthy mix of senior and junior players. He also addressed the lack of left-handers in previous editions, noting that this time the situation looks better as the team has enough left-hand batters.

Speaking more about the selected Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup, former world champion believes, “Shivam Dube has an X factor that can turn him into a match winner for the team as he is a major asset for the team now in the upcoming T20 World Cup“. Since he possesses the ability to bat and bowl, his presence can immensely benefit India

Initially, India struggled to find fast-bowling all-rounders who could play aggressively while batting and also take wickets. With both Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube now in the team, India finds itself in a good position heading into the World Cup.

Raina also mentioned that since all-rounders are assets for any team, India should back all the rounders they have, as they are going to play a massive role in this World Cup campaign for India.
