Veteran actress Shabana Azmi hosted a dazzling
Diwali celebration
at her home on Wednesday, drawing in a host of
Bollywood stars
. Guests included Tanvi Azmi, Divya Dutta, Dia Mirza, Konkona Sen Sharma, Richa Chadha, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Shahana Goswami, all decked up in their festive best attire.
Sharing photos from the party, Shabana wrote, “Happy Diwali sabko.”
Sharing a photo of herself laughing away with her gal pals, the actress wrote, “When the gurlz get together.”
Dia took to her handle to share photos from the get together that saw the actresses in stunning ethnic attire against a beautiful backdrop of fairy lights. She penned her Diwali wishes in a note that read, “Hamari aur se aap sabhi ke liye Diwali ki dhher saari khushiyan aur pyaar… I wish us all triumph over darkness and all that we believe in with good triumph over all that ill. Wishing you love, peace, and goodness this Diwali.” She also tagged fellow actresses Vidya Balan and Urmila Matondkar, who could not attend the gathering, saying, “Missed you.”
Tannishtha reacted to the post and praised Shabana saying, “What can I even say about the forever warmth, love, light, and happiness you spread? Thanks for always bringing all of us together.”
Last weekend, Azmi had attended Dia and her husband Vaibhav Rekhi’s Diwali celebration, where she shared another group photo featuring attendees like Sayani Gupta and Aditi Rao Hydari. Sayani looked elegant in a sheer white saree with a purple blouse, while Aditi donned a stunning black embroidered outfit. She went for a simple yet stylish black six-yard saree, captioning the moment “Creative women’s power at Dia and Vaibhav’s Diwali do”.
On the professional front, Shabana Azmi will star in Rajkumar Santoshi’s upcoming film, Lahore 1947, alongside Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta, under Aamir Khan Productions.
