Unfortunately for her fans and wrestling enthusiasts, Vinesh Phogat has decided to retire from her wrestling career following her disqualification from the Olympics 2024.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu
took to her
stories to repost a post about Vinesh’s retirement with a heartbreak emoji. According to the PTI (Press Trust of India), Vinesh Phogat has retired from the sport.
In her retirement message, Phogat stated, “Ma(mother), wrestling has won, I have lost. Please forgive me, your dreams, and my courage, everything is broken. I don’t have any more strength now. Goodbye wrestling 2001-2024. I shall be indebted to you all. Forgive me.”
Previously, Samantha took to Instagram to share a photo of Phogat from the Olympics and expressed her support. She wrote in the caption, “At times, the most resilient individuals encounter the toughest obstacles. Remember that you are not alone, a higher power is watching over you. Your remarkable ability to persist in the midst of difficulties is truly admirable. We will always stand by you through all your highs and lows. @vineshphogat.”
Reportedly, the wrestler was disqualified for being overweight by a few grams ahead of her wrestling final against USA’s Sarah Hildebrandt in the 50 kg freestyle event.
On the work front, Samantha will soon be seen opposite Varun Dhawan in the action OTT series ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’.
