Salman Khan’s much-anticipated action drama Sikandar is already making waves ahead of its grand Eid release. Directed by AR Murugadoss and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, the film has locked a massive Rs 165 crore non-theatrical deal, covering a significant portion of its production budget.
According to Pinkvilla, Sikandar has sealed a lucrative post-theatrical streaming deal with Netflix for Rs 85 crore, which can increase to a Rs 100 crore if the film crosses Rs 350 crore at the box office. The film’s satellite rights were sold to Zee for Rs 50 crore, while its music rights fetched another Rs 30 crore through Zee Music Company. The total non-theatrical revenue is projected to reach Rs 180 crore, depending on its theatrical success.
Mounted on a grand scale, Sikandar comes with a production budget of Rs 180 crore, excluding Salman Khan’s remuneration. The promotional and advertising (P&A) costs are expected to be around Rs 20 crore. This means the film has already recovered over 80 per cent of its investment before its theatrical release, significantly reducing financial risk for the makers.
Adding to the excitement, Sikandar will mark Salman Khan’s first-ever on-screen pairing with Rashmika Mandanna. The film also boasts an ensemble cast featuring Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and more. Scheduled for a grand release on March 30 (Sunday), the film is poised to dominate the box office during the festive season.
The hype surrounding Sikandar has been further soared by its music. The first song, Zohra Jabeen, has already set social media on fire, and the second song is expected to drop around Holi. Advance bookings for the film are likely to open soon, with expectations of a blockbuster opening.
With Salman Khan’s star power, AR Murugadoss’s direction, and a high-octane action-packed narrative, Sikandar is set to be one of the biggest Hindi films of the year. The film’s pre-release business already indicates strong audience anticipation, making it a potential game-changer at the box office.
