Acharya Monday filed her nomination papers as
RJD candidate
from
Saran constituency
that was once her father Lalu Prasad‘s fortress.
Rohini, who is pitted against sitting MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy of BJP, was accompanied by Lalu, mother Rabri Devi, sister Misa Bharti, and brothers Tej and Tejashwi.
Addressing RJD supporters, she said she was happy to contest from the “prestigious seat of Saran for the rise of a new sun of development”.
Praising Tejaswi, she claimed he had provided jobs to over five lakh youths in 17 months when he was Bihar’s deputy CM. She assured that she too would work for the people.
Speaking at the rally, Lalu expressed gratitude to the people of Saran, saying it was here that he had started his “rags to riches” journey in politics. Tejashwi reminded the people Rohini had saved Lalu’s life by donating her kidney, and appealed to them to vote for her.
