Bank employees participating in sapling planting drive to mark RBIs Foundation Day at Rayachoti in Annamayya district on Thursday.
State spokesperson of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Naveen Chirinelli and Annamayya district lead manager Anjaneyulu announced that the RBI will celebrate its 90 years of service with a nationwide sapling planting drive.
One such programme was organised at Government Degree College here. Officials from various banks in Rayachoti participated.
Saplings of various fruit-bearing trees such as guava, mango, lime, jamun (Neredu) and sapota were planted. “It symbolises the RBI’s focus on long-term environmental benefits and community welfare. The planting drive underscores the importance of increasing green cover to combat climate change and promote biodiversity,” Mr. Anjaneyulu said.
Mr. Naveen and Mr. Anjaneyulu said the RBI marked its 90th year of service with a series of commemorative events. “The RBI has expressed its commitment not only to economic stability but also to sustainable development and environmental protection,” Mr. Naveen said.
