Bollywood actor Rajesh Khanna’s demise in 2012 at the age of 69 left everyone heavy-hearted. However, in a recent interview, his alleged girlfriend
Anita Advani
opened up about the emotional turmoil the actor faced in the final year of his life. She revealed that he “melted away” both physically and emotionally during that period.
In an interview with the YouTube channel Avanti Films, Anita shared how deeply Rajesh Khanna struggled with his declining health. “He melted away in one year. I couldn’t see him like that. He would cry all day long,” she revealed. When asked if the actor had foreseen his end, Anita added, “He invited it, manifested it.”

Anita also spoke about Rajesh Khanna’s deep attachment to his iconic residence, Aashirvaad. She mentioned that he had long envisioned the house as a lasting tribute to his legacy. He wanted the house to be converted into a museum. He refused a lucrative Rs 150 crore offer for the property despite his failing health. He wanted that museum to go on for 100 years. The eventual demolition of the house left her shattered. “When the house was demolished, I died along with it,” she admitted.
Reflecting on Khanna’s family dynamics during his final year, Anita recalled a shift in relationships. In a 2013 interview with Rediff, she mentioned that his estranged wife, Dimple Kapadia, and daughters, Twinkle and Rinke, began visiting him more frequently. Anita shared that they stayed for a few hours and would call her if she was out to know when she’d return so they could leave. She took care of them during their visits, guiding them on where his belongings were kept. Over time, Anita and Dimple developed a cordial relationship, and she felt happy that his family was there for him.
