Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who has been making waves across the globe with her big projects, is now readying to return to Bollywood. Since 2021, the global star has been creating much buzz around her possible role in ‘
Jee Le Zaraa
,’ a road movie featuring Priyanka along with Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. This movie, directed by Farhan Akhtar and written by Zoya Akhtar, was much awaited, though it kept getting delayed because of the star cast and their dates.
Despite Priyanka having done everything outside and becoming a hero there, she has finally declared her decision to come back to Hindi cinema. Recently interacting with ‘HT City,’ Priyanka opened up on her present scenario with regard to the Hindi projects, which are being sent her way: “Not joking, I meet many filmmakers here and read scripts. I have actively been looking for something I want to do in Hindi. This year was really busy for me. But I have something up my sleeve; I will leave it at that. She was tight-lipped, saying, “You will need to speak to Excel (Entertainment, Farhan Akhtar’s production house) about that,” leaving fans eagerly awaiting confirmation.
It’s a long-pending film whose dates never matched Priyanka’s, Katrina’s, or Alia’s. Actually, early this year, Zoya Akhtar confirmed that indeed the work is in the process, yet she was very vocal about not making delays to be attributed to the lacuna in creativity but because some logistical issues occurred.
Priyanka is rocking it and reigning over all the international platforms. Just wrapped the second season of her spy series ‘Citadel’ that streams on Amazon Prime Video. When asked how she handles it all as a Hollywood-Bollywood actor, Priyanka credits her teen years in the U.S. for smoothening the act. “The process of filmmaking is the same everywhere; it’s the cultural differences that make industries unique,” she said, underlining the need to adjust to different environments. She said that she was always flexible and opened her mind to each industry.
Though Priyanka Chopra is a private individual, she has spent more than 25 years in the spotlight. She admitted that managing people’s expectations and personal vulnerabilities while in the public eye was an issue. “The hardest part is dealing with failure and change,” she admitted, adding how she has grown personally and professionally. Priyanka’s last Bollywood film was ‘The Sky Is Pink’ (2019), but new projects are being lined up.
