While he will not be available for the first match on Saturday, he has assured the MCA of his participation in the reminder of the tourney. The tournament will involve two-day matches at various venues across Mumbai.
“Prithvi Shaw has been asked by Mumbai’s senior selection committee chairman Sanjay Patil to play for the Mumbai Colts team in the Police Shield, which is starting from today. Prithvi Shaw dropped
Shaw, who had scored 49 crucial runs in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) and helped Mumbai win the title, wasn’t included in the VHT squad. His overall performance in the tournament wasn’t that great, and given the issues MCA had with his fitness and discipline, they decided to drop him.
Shaw took to social media and expressed his displeasure with the decision by sharing his stats in List A cricket. This wasn’t overlooked. The MCA has retorted back. As mentioned above, Shaw’s got problems on and off the field. He was dropped from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy team for his disciplinary issues, work ethic, and fitness issues.
