Police constable suspended for involvement in IPL betting

Greater Chennai Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore has suspended police constable Kamesh, attached to the Esplanade station, for having contacts with a gang involved in betting on IPL matches. The gang, comprising Y. Sandeep, T. Kathesh, P. Rajesh Kumar, T. Thiraj, S. Ankit Jain, and Jitender, was busted on Sunday.

The Police Commissioner took the decision based on the recommendation of senior police officers.
