NEW DELHI: After concluding his 45-hour meditation at the
Vivekananda Rock Memorial
in Tamil Nadu’s
Kanniyakumari
, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to Tamil saint-poet
Thiruvalluvar
and penned a heartfelt letter reflecting on his spiritual sojourn.
The Prime Minister embarked on this profound journey on May 30 evening and concluded it on June 1 evening, dedicating nearly 45 hours to meditation.
Immersed in deep contemplation day and night,
PM Modi
meditated at the
Dhyan Mandapam
, the very place where revered philosopher Swami Vivekananda is believed to have had a divine vision about ‘Bharat Mata’.
His presence at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, a site resonating with spiritual significance, coincided with the culmination of polling for the final phase of Lok Sabha elections. The Southernmost tip of India, where the Eastern and Western coastlines meet, serves as a symbolic meeting point of the Indian Ocean, Bay of Bengal, and Arabian Sea, underscoring the unity of the nation.
PM Modi’s visit to Kanniyakumari sends a powerful message of national unity, echoing the mythological accounts of Goddess Parvati’s meditation at the same spot while awaiting Lord Shiva.
Prior to this spiritual retreat, Prime Minister Modi concluded his vigorous election campaign in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur on Thursday, marking the culmination of a series of around 206 election campaign events across 75 days. Amidst the campaign frenzy, he engaged in approximately 80 interviews with various news and media platforms.
Known for his inclination towards spiritual introspection at the end of election campaigns, PM Modi’s previous visits to Kedarnath in 2019 and Shivaji’s Pratapgarh in 2014 resonate with this pattern.
