ICC T20 World Cup: Pitch Installation begins at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium one month before start of tournament
The installation of the pitches have begun at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. The work has begun just ahead of the start of the ICC T20 World Cup. A total of 10 pitches have arrive from which four will be used. The remaining six pitches are to used in practice facilities. The excitement continues as the Nassau Stadium will host the iconic India vs Pakistan clash.
“We couldn’t be happier. Everything is going to plan, they (the pitches) are in real good condition and all of our benchmarks and measures that we take along the way are exceeding expectations,” Hough said.
“We hope we have got a good T20 pitch, that has good pace, good bounce and (provides) value for shots. You want the batters to be able to play shots all over the ground so that is our design and at the start our ambition was to produce pitches along those lines,” Hough concluded.
With just a month remaining for the start of the ICC T20 World Cup, it is of utmost importance that the complete construction of the 34000 seater stadium concludes. 9 teams are slated to play their matches at this stadium. With the pitches being installed, it can expected that the pitch favours both batters and bowlers equally in the tournament.
