Paris Olympics 2024 India Day 13 Live Updates: Neeraj Chopra and the Indian hockey team will headline the action on Thursday.
Paris Olympics 2024 India, Day 13 LIVE Updates: After a heart-wrenching day of defeats, India will hope for some rejuvenation on Thursday when Neeraj Chopra steps out to defend his javelin gold and the men’s hockey team take on Spain in the bronze-medal match
In what has been a tumultuous 24 hours, India’s hope for a wrestling gold/silver medal was quashed after Vinesh Phogat was disqualified ahead of Wednesday night’s final. After enduring numerous challenges throughout the last two days, Vinesh finally dropped her retirement announcement on Thursday morning. India’s contingent have not had a decent time otherwise either, with Vinesh’s fellow wrestler Antim Panghal facing deportation after she took her sister in to the Games Village without an accreditation last evening.
However, the show must go on and in what will be one of India’s last hopes for a sparkling gold medal, Neeraj will enter the Stade de France to maintain his command over the javelin across a competitive field. Following the setback in the hockey semi-final against Germany, Harmanpreet Singh and Co. too will hope for a medal-winning turnaround in Paris.

After a quick chat about Indian food, Neeraj wanted to know something specific from the 20-time Grand Slam champion, who had one of the longest elite sporting careers in the world.
Neeraj, 26 years old, will enter the Stade de France on Thursday night as the reigning Olympic and World Champion in men’s javelin throw. He might already know a thing or two about longevity. He’s still young, but has been at the centre of all Indian athletics hopes since the time he broke the junior world record back in 2016. READ MORE
