Bollywood celebrities have come out in full force to emphasize the importance of voting in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Actor-turned-politician Paresh Rawal, after casting his vote in Mumbai during the fifth phase of polling on May 20, urged citizens to exercise their voting rights. “The government needs to impose more taxes or some form of punishment on those who fail to exercise their rights,” said Rawal, a BJP leader. He added, “People claim that the government does not do anything… But if you don’t go out and vote then the citizens are responsible for all their issues, not the government.”
