Orry
ditched his party animal avatar as he took a break from his city life and parked himself in the wilderness of Kashmir. From climbing mountains, living in a tent to sheep grazing he was seen living the
pahadi life
to the fullest. As his followers wondered the reason behind his sudden shift, the latter opened up about the experience he had as he abandoned the luxurious life for one whole week.
He says, “I love challenges. I like to test my own calibre. My whole life I have been proving myself again and again. When I was young people said Orry doesn’t play sports when I am really athletic as a person. As I grew older, I realised that I don’t need to prove myself to other people and so I started doing it for my personal gain. I did this trip because I wanted to push myself. I wanted to get myself out from the comfort zone. I believe that in life being comfortable will only slow you down. If you are getting comfortable to your pillow, bed or holidays then you need to do something new.”
The social media star mentions that this trip worked towards transforming him mentally. He elaborates saying, “I had two prep days before I parked myself in the mountains for five straight days. From climbing an uphill incline of 50-60 kms and living in a tent was hard. However, having water straight from natural resources like filling your water bottle with a running river stream, sleeping under the stars was a very different experience for a cosmopolitan boy like me. The people I was with wanted to test my capabilities.”
Even though he lived the wild life, Orry shared that there are certain things he wanted to do the civilised way. “Something like… I didn’t want to attend the nature’s call out in the open. So, I learned to make igloos using stones and did my business in there,” he says.
As he looks back at the week that was, Orry shares that he definitely missed the paps around him and all the materialistic things that he’s used to. He signs off saying, “I used to make my own food and I used to do my own dishes. After proving myself about my capabilities I realised that materialistic things do matter. We work hard so we don’t have to slog and live with basic means. We work hard to live with finer things. I missed my luxurious possessions and the paparazzi.”
