Optiemus and German LS Spectrum Solutions forge partnership to launch advanced drone-based spectrum analyzers in India.

NEW DELHI: Drone maker

Optiemus Unmanned Systems

, a wholly-owned subsidiary of telecom and electronics contract manufacturer

Optiemus

Infracom, partnered with Germany’s

LS Spectrum Solutions

for marketing, assembly, and distribution of its drone-based

spectrum analysis

solutions in India.
LS Spectrum Solutions is a subsidiary of LS Telecom AG and is a provider of advanced

drone-based spectrum analyzers

.
Optiemus said the partnership will give momentum to its drones business as well as to the govt’s ‘Make in India’ programme, as the company expects solutions for the defence establishments and beyond.
“Through this strategic partnership, Optiemus will sell LS Spectrum’s advanced spectrum analyser drones. These products are poised to transform

spectrum monitoring

across multiple sectors, especially in defence. LS Spectrum brings to the table its deep expertise in spectrum analysis technology to deliver value to the Indian market and meet the objectives of the ‘Make In India’ programme. These drones will support seamless detection and analysis of spectrum usage, enabling improved management of communication frequencies in India,” Optiemus said.

Ashok Gupta, Chairman of Optiemus Infracom, said the company looks at the collaboration as an opportunity to leverage its distribution and localisation capabilities to deliver quality solutions for the Indian defence forces, homeland security, and aviation industry. “This partnership will deliver an unmatched offering in the market, and we will also look to further diversify into other products of LS Spectrum Solutions in the future to strengthen our proposition.”

Prasad Kerkar, Director, LS Spectrum Solutions, said the company looks to contribute deeply to India’s growing technology landscape by introducing sophisticated drone-based spectrum solutions. “We aim to increase awareness and adoption of these innovative products across India and work closely with Optiemus. We are upbeat on opportunities in India and will be actively engaging with local stakeholders to showcase the capabilities of our unique solutions.”
The companies also look to use the partnership to develop solutions that address the issue of unauthorised cellular activity, such as illicit communications originating from prisons in India.
The UAVs will enable real-time monitoring of communication frequencies, which is critical for managing spectrum resources, especially in high-demand areas like telecommunications and civil aviation. Additionally, they will be able to enhance security by allowing defence and homeland security sectors to conduct surveillance and detect unauthorised spectrum activities.
“By deploying drones for spectrum analysis, organisations can operate efficiently in challenging environments, realising significant time and cost savings compared to traditional spectrum monitoring methods,” the companies said.
